KS3 Information

The Key Stage 3 curriculum provides breadth and balance in the range of subjects that are offered. There is an explicit emphasis on the development of skills and mastery in order for young people to become life-long learners and consequently make a significant contribution  to society.

The Key Stage 3 curriculum serves to build upon the skills and knowledge developed throughout pupil’s primary education and creates a solid foundation upon which to develop knowledge and key concepts as they move to Key Stage 4.

Core subjects within the Academy commence key stage 4 schemes of learning at the beginning of year 9, demonstrating the high expectations we have for our pupils and promoting high achievement. This allows them to develop ‘mastery’ within the subject area and give additional time for continual practise. Other departments within the Academy will also follow a 3 year Key Stage 4 programme.
