Courses on Offer

The Sixth form curriculum provides our pupils with the breadth, balance and choice that will ensure that they are successful in their next stages of education or employment.  Pupils are guided down a pathway that ensures their needs are consistently met and that groups of subjects ensure they have the focus required for those next steps.  

Our co-curriculum ensures they have opportunities to participate in activities that ignite passion and enthusiasm, preparing our students for personal fulfilment and active social responsibility. We encourage independent learners who enjoy and value learning throughout their lives. We encourage pupils to enhance their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development; the whole curriculum inspires them to reflect on their place in the wider community, locally, nationally and internationally.

Pupils will also be expected take part in a wealth of extra, CV enriching activities including mentoring younger pupils, leading assemblies and taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Below is the outline for the 6th form curriculum:

At Key Stage 5 (Sixth Form)

Pathway One

Pupils access 4 Level 3 courses; this could be a combination of A-Level and BTEC Qualifications (IAG will ensure that the appropriate choices are made based upon level 2 results)

Pathway Two:

Pupils access 4 Level 3 courses, one of which will be EPQ. The remaining 3 will be a combination of A-Level and BTEC qualifications.

Pathway Three:

Pupils access Level 2 English or Maths qualification  (retake in November) alongside 3 Level 3 courses. The remaining 3 will be a combination of A-Level and BTEC qualifications and/or the Extended Project

The assessment map provides students with an overview of all coursework and assessment windows for all Sixth Form subjects. It is a working provisional document and will be amended and updated regularly, and as such should be used as a guide only.
