World Book Day!

It's World Book Day at the Academy and we celebrated our favourite authors by hosting various activities throughout the day. The day was a great success with many different costumes, representing a wide range of literary personalities.

Teachers dressed up as their favourite book character, along with sixth form students and our primary children.

Our sixth form have  raised £155.60 for their prom by dressing up and selling cakes!

There were many costumes, including some departments inspired by a theme; the science department were Mr Men and Little Miss characters. Some characters were inspired by Fairytales including Maleficent, Little Red Riding Hood and Snow White.

Other fictional characters included The White Queen from 'The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe', Sherlock Holmes, The Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Lady Macbeth, Willy Wonka and The Trunchbull.

Some of the favourite characters included Effie Trnket by Ms LeBrun-Moore, from The Hunger Games, and the Queen of Hearts by Ms Onodi. Where's Wally was to be found around the Academy in numerous places!
