6th Form Annual May Day Run

On Friday 12th May, students and teachers lined up for the 26th May Day Run, the annual one lap of the school race where the winner gets to donate all money raised to a charity of their choice.

In the build up to the race, there was much talk about the competitive runners - would it be existing champion Nye Griffiths or Year 12 district runner Jamie Crisp that takees the glory? And what costume would Mr Mundie be wearing?

The race lived up to the hype and proved to be one of the fastest in recent years, with Nye winning by less than a second, in a time of 1 minute 36 seconds, Jamie in second and Mr Mundie - dressed as a penguin - well down the order.

A special mention must also go to Robin Hammond, who despite recent surgery on his leg, ran the race on crutches and with his leg still in a brace.

Students and staff raised £150 which will be donated to Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Thank you to all staff and students that supported the race.
